The Enhancement Center in Carlsbad
The Enhancement Center began as a dream of founder, Jim Shotwell, an MSW (Masters of Social Work) with a desire to open a private practice and support other mental health professionals.
The Enhancement Center offers both psychotherapy and behavioral support services for people with intellectual disabilities. In fact, Jim began his career in mental health by providing support services to people with intellectual disabilities so it only made sense for him to include those offerings in his private practice as well. Since the beginning of The Enhancement Center, the group has attracted therapists and counselors who are passionate about mental health and helping individuals improve their quality of life.

We Love Carlsbad, NM
Carlsbad, NM, is of course known for the famous Carlsbad Caverns National Park. These underground spaces fill the national park, with 119 caves that we know of. You can’t tour all of them but you can explore the Big Room Trail and the Natural Entrance Trail—both self guided. And if you want a more interactive experience, check out the ranger guided tours. There are also other outdoor treasures in Carlsbad, like the Living Desert Zoo and Gardens State Park. This destination has a unique showing of plants that are native to the area, as well as animals. And who doesn’t love Milton’s Brewing and Guadalupe Mountain Brewing Company for great food and beer in the area?
