Clinical Director

Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)

Licensed Professional Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LPCC)

I began my professional career in 1983 working in the Information Technology field as a computer programmer, systems analyst, computer trainer, and software documentation writer/editor. When my son was born with a physical and intellectual disability in 1994, I made it my mission to help him create a life worth living; happy, healthy and independent. This experience caused me to reevaluate my professional focus, and I returned to school in 2004 to pursue a master’s degree in counseling. My goal was to provide behavior therapy services to individuals with developmental disabilities.

Understanding the need to improve my skills as a behavior therapist, I completed the Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) graduate certificate program at the University of New Mexico, Department of Special Education in 2017. I believe in evidence-based practice; using interventions that are grounded in science to help individuals with challenging behaviors. I am passionate about helping people learn to manage their behaviors in an environment free of aversive interventions, focusing instead on using approaches that build on our understanding of human behavior and the motivation to succeed common to all people, regardless of skill level.

Being a Clinical Director at TEC allows me to share my knowledge of ABA, along with skills from my previous career, to help our agency’s therapists provide clients the best treatment possible. I’ve never lost my computer geek vibe. I’ve just redirected it to helping this population.

I’m an avid road cyclist and a certified scuba diver, along with my husband and son. Everyone needs a way to unwind at the end of the day!
