LMSW(Licensed Masters Social Worker)
Working in many aspects of behavioral health, I’ve developed different approaches suit to the many different kinds of people I’ve worked with here and abroad. Behavioral Health runs in my blood. I grew up with a mother who worked as an investigative Social worker. From a very young age, I learned how important is for a person to have some listen to them and be there.
After I had graduated from my Bachelor program, I joined the Peace Corp to help bring HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus) awareness to parts of the world where it was lacking. Three different times, three different parts of Africa and it was a wonderful and eye-opening experience. In Las Cruces, I work with a Head Start Program that supports at-risk youth and learned the importance of early intervention.
Since school, I have learned valuable skills such as; EDMR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprogramming), and DBT (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy). Working as a case manager has broadened my knowledge of mental health guidelines. It also helped me to increased my organizational skills. Working with kids through adults of all ages the techniques I’ve developed are essential to me and my clients. I’m blessed to be able to share my knowledge with my clients and work towards a better quality of life for all involved.
Behavioral Support Consulting is a fulfilling career where I not only get to interact with the client but also with many caregivers in different settings. Being a BSC allows me to make sure care methods are consistent for the client from home to work to community activities.
