As a family therapist, I work with individuals, couples, families, and children over the age of 7. I see connection as crucial to progress in therapy and model connection to self and others that are important in their lives. As I am fluent in Spanish and English and sensitive to culture. Hablo espanol y siento la cultura. I am attune to the to the story and if there are language and cultural barriers of not feeling heard in one’s own language and cultural background in therapy, I work to cross them. In the case of other languages and cultures, I provide cultural competency and sensitivity to those needs as well. If trauma is part of the story re-traumatization is avoided and employ sensory interventions such as sensation awareness and sand therapy before and after until you are ready to process your trauma if you chose to. Work is done to identify and utilize the appropriate techniques that are needed to help my clients overcome the problems that are stumbling blocks to achieving the functionality, healthy adjusted lives and relationships. My approach is Jungian, Humanistic, attachment focused, and provide Neuroscience Polyvagal interventions.
